Container Fruit Terminal (CFT) is a Cold Store for chilled produce and is situated in the Port of Cape Town.  With Table Mountain on the one side and the sea on the other, CFT is your produce gateway to the rest of the world. 

The most fundamental protection for perishables lies in a well controlled temperature environment.  Since 1995 we have been taking care of customers handling some of the most sensitive produce.  Our facility was custom designed to service the subtropical industry.  In the last few years we have broadened our horizons handling a wide variety of deciduous and citrus fruit types. 

We have various small rooms to offer a variety of temperature regimes.  This way we can handle each different product type at its optimum temperature.  While under our care, a computerised temperature control system monitors and controls the conditions in all rooms.  On a 24 hour basis, predetermined conditions are monitored to ensure the best possible compliance to various client and industry protocols.  This includes the stringent phytosanitary protocols of countries such as USA.   All rooms are connected to the loading areas through a temperature controlled airlock.  This means that from the moment your produce is delivered to CFT, the cold chain is never broken.  Since we are situated inside the Port of Cape Town, the time your produce takes before it is connected to power in the Cape Town Container Terminal, is as short as it can be.  Again affirming the optimum benefit of temperature control.

Combined with having the best location, hands on temperature management and professional service levels, we place a high emphasis on information accuracy.  We use the Paltrack stock control system, making it possible to offer full traceability of produce handled at our facility.  This includes intake information, in-store movements as well as shipping information.  Linked to this, various data can be extracted for clients to suit their individual needs.  Electronic invoice data, automated stock reports and electronic intake/stock/shipping data distribution is only a few permutations of the information we can supply.
